Machine tufted carpets are used in many homes and businesses today and have been since they began to be manufactured in the Dalton, Georgia area. MRM added these to our product line, in the 1950’s, to compliment our Handhooked rug program in areas where design rugs were not specified, but where the color and quality were needed to accompany the other rugs that were being used in a home, board room, office or yacht. This program was really accelerated in 1989 when MRM was purchased by Schneller, Inc., a worldwide supplier of aircraft interior products, and Nomex was introduced as a carpet fiber by DuPont. Schneller owned MRM for four years, prior to the Morgan family purchasing it in 1994. Nomex could be dyed and carpets and bulkhead logo tapestries made that would meet the more stringent FAA requirements that were introduced during that time. We have continued to utilize and add to these machines to not only manufacture for commercial airlines, but also to manufacture wool floor carpets for private and corporate aircraft and yachts. Our carpets are also specified by many architectural firms and decorators for commercial and residential applications. We also Hand Overtuft designs into these carpets or we make and attach handmade borders, when the budget will not allow for a completely handmade carpet. One of the benefits of our machine tufted carpet is, we can make them in the width the carpet is needed, up to 28 feet wide. Other benefits are the quality, pile height and color all can be changed to get the exact match a customer is looking for. We also have a quick ship program for the aircraft refurbishment market.
